Lynda Ballard founder of Kobashi. "I started Kobashi in 1985 with the goal of supplying the best Essential Oils and Aromatherapy products at good prices. I am happy to say, that with the help of many people we have accomplished that goal. We originally set up to supply the Health Food industry and now also supply thousands of Therapists, Clinics, and Hospitals worldwide."

Since our origin we have had an amazing discount structure. We're saying this because being in this business as long as we have we know the base prices for the highest quality products. Not to underestimate the value but we are perplexed of why people would spend £25 for a 15ml bottle of Tea tree. We have enough money, don't owe anybody anything, could retire if wanted too and have been selling at a fraction of the price.

You won't know about the discount structure unless you purchase as they are not available on the first order.

Kobashi is a well established company that prides itself on the quality of its products. We have been successfully increasing our turnover for over 35 years.

All of our oils are from named botanical species, 100% natural, unadulterated, nothing added or taken away unless needed to make safer, of the highest quality and tested for their authenticity. We use the latest testing equipment: GC & GC-MS systems in conjunction with HP Chem-station and Wiley’s 360,000 chemical spectrum's library, testing to parts per trillion (ppt).

The oils structural testing has been operated by Dr. Kevin Brigden, Iryna Labunska, Scott Ballard and others at laboratories in Exeter, Pyrenessences and Mylnefield. Kobashi has an extensive library on essential oil data to cross reference-research the oils.

We have grown organically Lavender,Calendula,St John's Wort,Blue Chamomile,Roman Chamomile andCatnip in Devon. We also work closely with growers and distillers worldwide as it is more cost effective to find growers who specialize in each product..

All Kobashi products are Animal Free and suitable for Vegans or Vegetarians. We encourage everyone to do their best to be Vegan, as this is the best for our environment, health and well-being.

95% of our packing materials are 100% biodegradable. We are working to make this 100% without the products breaking in shipping.

Kobashi has been Campaigning to end animal experiments since 1985. We do not believe animal testing is valid for humans, especially due to it's cruelty.

In our beginnings we were members of the BUAV and Vegan society, but since this is our way of life we don't want to hide behind a logo, which doesn't prove personal ethics. People can join this and that, but they still are whatever they are. At the end of the day you either trust us or not. Possibly it would have been easier to just wave logos around and it's fine to support these companies.

The ugly truth is, even though there are alternatives to animal testing, all products in the world have been tested on animals at on time or another. We can only make the best stance against animal testing and try to stop it .

We encourage people to use alternatives to animal torturing.

We purchase the best we can and test for chemical structure, always trying to supply oils which are organically grown (no artificial fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides or pesticides). We detest harmful chemicals and would like to see the end of their use. We reject any oil if pesticides or herbicides are found at harmful levels. We don't care what hype a company throws at us. The fact is no one can guarantee they aren't in at ppb and ppt even if organically grown on remote places of the world.

The reality is all organically grown or synthetic compounds have their harmful dose. It's all about dose and degree. Example too much water and what will do? We should really stop all the scare mongering, as in the right dose humans thrive and adapt. Use as little as possible.

We support groups or people interested in a better environment. We believe where-ever and when-ever we should create our own sustainable energy.

Kobashi creates it's electricity from our great Sun. Kobashi Solar produces 75kws: 83700kwhs per year. We export to the nations electric grid enough energy to run 17 homes per year. We also support green energy suppliers.

We take great care when purchasing our oils - buying direct from growers and distillers whenever possible. We don't totally trust anyone and do what's necessary. Many of Kobashi Oils are organically grown: either naturally farmed, sustainable wild or organically certified at source. We are not a member of a organic association as this would only increase the price and you would be getting the same oil. Saying this we test for the unwanted and didn't join also because they didn't.

Kobashi products are formulated in-house in order to maintain strict quality control. All our luxury blended lotions are made with organically grown Aloe Vera, Lavender & Frankincense Hydrolats, Evening Primrose oil, Rosehip seed oil and Natural Vitamin E mixed-tocopherols. Our luxury shampoo includes organically grown Aloe Vera as the 1st ingredient after aqua. Jojoba oil, wheatgerm oil and Natural Vitamin E, C, and much more. It's excellent and if you're cautious like us test it and you will see.

We have a system for measures, batching and Stock Control. Each essential oil is supplied in an amber glass bottle fitted with a dropper which should be horizontal and tilted slowly for more control.

We created the Kobashi logo and brand to make Aromatherapy a healing bridge between all people of the world.

We are world family business, Lynda UK born and Scott USA born, but believe the world should be as one. We identify with the universal super consciousness and all of nature, the elements that make us what we are.

Kobashi is from ancient Sanskrit, then ancient Japanese, meaning good aroma coming from all directions: fragrant,  virtuous, beautiful
In Chinese it translate as Bridges. Bridges are what we like to make, as all people should live in harmony.

The good way is to move forward and make bridges.
