A member of the Oleaceae family, an evergreen vine up to ten metres high, with delicate bright green leaves and fragrant, white, star shaped flowers Native to China, northern India and west Asia. We finally found a Jasmine farmer distiller who is willing to work with us to give us the quality we demand. It takes one person four hours to pick one kilo of flowers this produces around 1 ml of oil!!

For over two years, we were not able to find any Jasmine which met with our strict standards, even though we have tested countless samples. All of the samples tested have had high levels of pesticides, Benzene, phthalates and/or too much ethanol, hexane or pentane, which are cheap alcohol's used in the extraction process, which were left in finished product. We can almost guarantee that if you are not buying Kobashi Jasmine, what you are really getting is a cocktail containing any or more likely all of the above, or worse, a synthetic or natural chemical concoction. Many of the samples we have tested you would have been happy with, as phthalates/ pesticides have no aroma, and ethanol which is widely employed in the perfume industry, tends to 'smooth' a fragrance and generally enhance the aroma.

Due to high price Jasmine is often adulterated with unwanted chemical.

Due to test failing in the past, we have lost many thousands of UK pounds [US dollars] by not having jasmine in stock, and a few of our customers, especially some shops lost their patience with us. But we stand by our principles in that we are truly an ethical company, and will not compromise.
