Additional Information
KOBASHI MUGWORT HYDROLAT
Pure sustainable artisan hydrolat, steam distilled by us in Devon from Artemisia vulgaris organically grown and wildcrafted from our own land.
LATIN NAME: Artemisia vulgaris
SOURCE: Steam distilled from the fresh aerial parts.
ORIGIN: England
AROMA: Fresh, green and strongly herbaceous with earthy, slightly bitter undertones.
Due to being a completely natural product, harmless plant sediment may occasionally be present.
Our Mugwort grows naturally on our Devon land alongside plants which we cultivate ourselves. It is harvested by hand and distilled fresh in small batches in our copper still. No pesticides or herbicides are used on the plants or surrounding land.
Mugwort is a member of the Asteraceae family and is a hardy aromatic perennial native to Britain and much of Europe. It produces tall branching stems with deeply divided green leaves, silvery beneath, and clusters of small flowers during the summer. The plant has a long history as a traditional aromatic and household herb and has also been associated with cleansing and ritual use for centuries.
The distillation produces a beautifully aromatic herbal water containing the water-soluble and naturally volatile constituents captured from the fresh plant. Mugwort Hydrolat has a distinctly green, herbaceous character quite unlike the sweeter floral hydrolats.
QUALITIES: Refreshing, cleansing and balancing. Particularly suited to skin and scalp preparations and useful wherever a fresh herbal botanical water is required. Hydrolats do not need to be diluted and may be misted directly onto the skin. Use as a refreshing facial or body mist, a scalp and hair tonic, or as the water phase in creams, lotions and other natural skincare preparations.
We recommend misting the skin with Mugwort Hydrolat before applying a moisturising cream or facial oil.It can also be used as a room or linen mist and wherever its distinctive fresh herbal aroma is desired.
Mugwort Floral Water, Mugwort Hydrosol, Mugwort Herbal Distillate. No added fragrance, alcohol or preservatives.
Best kept refrigerated after opening & used within 2 months.
We deliberately do not add preservatives to our artisan hydrolats. This allows you to receive the hydrolat exactly as it comes from the still.
Other hydrolats available include Chamomile Blue, Chamomile Roman, Lavender, Rose Otto, Frankincense, Peppermint, Melissa, Yarrow, Bay and Neroli.
