We have been selling Neroli since 1985, but every year it gets harder to find it real.
We finally found a good one after a year of looking.

True 100% Neroli Citrus aurantium amara bigarade, (bigaradia) commonly known as the bitter, sour or Seville orange. Neroli is mainly from Morocco, Spain and Tunisia. other origins are Egypt, Sicily, Haiti, France, Brazil and USA. There is only 800kg to 1200kg produced a year. Fresh flowers yielded approximately 0.28%. Around 375 kg of petals creates approximately 1 kg or less of quality oil. (1 kg of flowers yields can produce about 1g bigarade oil, but many factors dictate yield.)
There are 10's of thousands of essential oil companies. We only purchasing 3kgs. If we were to do the maths at the lowest calculations there is much more Neroli being sold than is physically being grown and distilled.
It is easy for a chemist to manufacture a blend of aroma chemicals (naturally or synthetically derived) and call it what ever they want.
The public will not know the difference without a train noise and in depth analysis by an expert.
Of course I can't give an exact amount, but IMO 95% of the companies selling what they call Neroli oil is a chemical concoction. It is easy for a chemist to manufacture a blend of aroma chemicals (naturally or synthetically derived) and call it what ever they want. The public will not know the difference without a trained noise and in depth Gc-MS analysis by an expert.
The web is full of so called "Neroli" at prices to low to be real.
Even at high prices the person purchasing straight from the distiller can be sold an adulterated oil.
Best to know and trust the distiller and make sure proper testing is done.

QUALITIES: Antidepressant. calming and soothing during times of stress , helps restore sleep. Ideal for skin care, especially mature/dry types.
Used as an ingredient in eau de cologne and perfume: An ingredient in one of our luxury creams. We also have a hydrolat ( floral water) of neroli which is wonderful as a skin toner and conditioner. One kilo of blossoms yields about 1 ml of oil.
Not to be mistaken for the cheaper orange blossom oil which does not have the nutty flavour.
A member of the Rutaceae family, an evergreen tree up to ten metres high, with glossy dark green oval leaves. It has white fragrant flowers. Native to Asia but grows well in the Mediterranean

{Between April and aug 2006 and May 2016 to July 2017 we did not supply Neroli due to not finding a suitable quality. }
Most Neroli on the market now is being adulterated by adding LIMONENE, LINALOOL, LINALYL ACETATE, a-TERPINEOL, GERANYL ACETATE,NEROL, GERANIOL, NEROLIDOL, METHYL ANTHRANILATE.
Linalool Natural sells at USD 30-00 kilo, Limonene Natural at USD 2-50 kilo, Alpha Pinene at pennies.
Put them all together and you got a very profitable situation.

There is only 800 to 1200 kg produced a year. Fresh flowers yielded approximately 0.28%. Around 375 kg of petals creates approximately 1 kg or less of quality oil. (1 kg of flowers yields can produce about 1g bigarade oil, but many factors dictate yield.)
Warning from my supplier distiller for next year's kg price: " Another thing you are missing is that for the same oil profile I sold you this year, I received offers to sell it for USD 10,000 at wholesale price for next year."
There are thousands of essential oil and perfume companies. We only purchased 3kgs this time. If we were to do the maths at the lowest calculations there is much more Neroli being sold than is physically being grown and distilled.
Of course I can't give an exact amount, but IMO 95% of the companies selling what they call Neroli is a chemical concoction.
It is easy for a chemist to manufacture a blend of aroma chemicals (naturally or synthetically derived) and call it what ever they want.
The public will not know the difference without a good noise and in depth Gc-MS analysis by an expert.

Analysis by Pyrenessences
Date of reception : 06/14/2017 Date analysis : 06/15/2017
Packaging : Brown flask of 5 ml - ambient temperature
Wanted analysis : Classic analysis
- CPG 6890 / MS 5973 AGILENT - Column : VF WAX polar 60 m 0,25 mm 0,5 µm
- CPG 6890 FID AGILENT - Column : VF WAX polar 60 m 0,25 mm 0,5 µm
- Program : 6 min to 60°C - 2°C/min 250°C - 10 min to 250°C
- Carrier gas : He 30 psi/FID ; 23 psi/MS
- Dilution: 10 % in Hexane
- Mass : 30 à 350
- Sample injection : 1 µL
When the oils are tested the analyst has to dilute in hexane, pentane or acetone to be able to put it through the Gc-Ms columns. You can't run samples neat, as the detectors are very sensitive and the chemicals would overlap.
Mass range : 30 to 350, Oil components are identified by a combination of retention times (our own database) and mass spectra library NIST 75 000 records,
Percentages are calculated from GC/FID peaks areas without using corrections factors.
Naturally occurring in Neroli oil.
